SEASON LAY-OUT

The following dates are TENTATIVE.

Feb 1:          Division Status Application Forms due

Feb 8:          PHUL informs Boys teams which division they will be participating in

Feb 28:        Captains/Coaches meeting (find out regions, schedule games)

Mar 10:        All game schedules,  online registrations, paperwork, and schedules due

Mar 16:        Regular season begins

Early May:   Playoffs begin

Mid-May:     Finals

DIVISION REQUIREMENTS- PHUL SPRING LEAGUE

In order to participate in the the Pittsburgh High School Ultimate League's Spring Season, each team must complete an Application Form by February 1, 2015.

The 2015 Boys Division Application can be found HERE.

The 2015 Girls Division Application can be found HERE.

Boys Division I teams must:

  • Be approved for Division I status (will be informed by ~February 8th)
  • Have played at least one previous year in PHUL
  • Have a roster of at least fourteen (14) registered players, male only
  • Have at least 5 returning players who competed in PHUL 2014
  • Have a coach who is acknowledged by PHUL (and completes proper coaching protocol)
  • If the team participated in Div II in the previous spring season, the team must have had a winning record in the Regular Season.
  • Be in good standing with the league

Boys Division II teams must:

  • Be approved for Division II status (will be informed by ~February 8th)
  • Have a roster of at least ten (10) registered players, male or female
  • Be in good standing with the league

Note: all first-year teams are required to participate in Division II.

Girls Division teams must:

  • Have a roster of a least ten (10) registered players, female only
  • Be in good standing with the league

FOR ALL DIVISIONS:

If a private or charter school is struggling to meet roster requirements AND they qualify for A or AA for basketball for their respective gender (see HERE), a student at that school may participate in the PHUL Spring Season for another school team that exists within the district they live, pending approval by the PHUL Administration.
