The Beginning

Henry Thorne began RUN as a rookie team after Pittsburgh summer league 2001. Its purpose was to recruit players with speed, endurance, and competitive winning attitudes; and then introduce them to the excitement of high-level play. After this short introduction, those recruits were supposed to graduate to Pittsburgh's elite men's club team. Now, ironically, the best open team in Pittsburgh is RUN.

| We came in seeded 13th and 4th in our pool, however, we won our pool on the first day with big wins over Retired to Stud (Philadelphia), Sideshow (University of Deleware), Void (University of Pennsylvania), and two yet to be remembered teams. That placed us in the top 4. We played a round robin division against No Mas, Pike, and Guilt Free Ultimate. We didn't challenge Rage or Pike too much, but we challenged Guilt Free Ultimate. We ended up 4th overall.

This is a 16 team double elimination tournament. We lost our first game to Bullet (Washington D.C.) and then lost another to Spank (Penn State Univeristy) so we were out of the running. However, we played in the loser's loser's bracket against the Hungry Hungry Hippos (George Washington University) and got one win. That put us in a 2-way tie for 13th overall.
